David Campbell returns to his roots with the new album On Broadway(Masterworks/2010) and SF debut. What is "By Any Other Name"? Given that songwriters can name their songs the same as other tunes already published, there are many songs with the same names - take "Time After Time" written in 1947 by Sammy Cahn & Julie Styne or was it written by Cyndi Lauper in 1984? How about "All By Myself" written by Irving Belrin in 1921, or maybe that was written by Eric Carmen in 1975? In her new show, Kosut and her band will mix up unexpected arrangements of jazz, pop and folk.
